Gas, Oil, Electric and Warm-Air Furnaces
How do you decide if you need to replace?
If your furnace or boiler is older than 20 years, chances are it is a good investment to replace it with a high-efficiency model. Also consider a replacement now if your system is one of the following:
- Old coal burner that was previously switched over to oil or gas
- Old gas furnace without electronic ignition. If it has a pilot light, it was probably installed prior to 1992 and has an efficiency of about 65% efficient (the least efficient systems today are 80%)
- Old gas furnace without vent dampers or an induced draft fan (which limit the flow of heated air up the chimney when the heating system is off).

Advantages of Combined Boilers
- Possible combination of the individual types of fuel:
- fuels changing without modifications in the boiler wood + pellets, wood + natural gas, wood + heating oil.

- at any time, it is possible to choose a different medium.
- High effectiveness in the individual fuels:
- for all practical purposes identical as in the special boilers for extra LFOs, natural gas, or pellets (up to 92.3% at the nominal output).

Underfloor Radiant Heat
Radiant Floor Heating is not a new concept. Centuries ago the Romans forced hot air under the floors of their housing structures. Also architect Frank Lloyd Wright ran hot water pipes throughout the floors of his many structures back in the 1930s. In fact, this application is so common in Europe over 50% of all newly constructed buildings are equipped with a radiant floor heating application.
Radiant heating provides whole floor comfort, quiet operation, eliminates drafts and dust problems from forced air and is invisible (no registers or radiators.)

Ceiling Radiant Heat

Because radiant heat does not depend on moving large volumes of air, dust and contaminants in the air and room are reduced.
